Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself (on the Cross) without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
The power of the Holy Spirit and the gospel of the Cross, are so welded together that they cannot be separated.
It would be impossible to separate them (the power of the Spirit and the Gospel of Christ); such separation would have to undo all that GOD is and stands for.
The Holy Spirit has invested everything in the crucified Christ. No wonder Apostle Paul cooperated with the Holy Spirit to declare:
1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
The Holy Ghost works His wonders only on redemption ground and supports only the gospel – always and everywhere.
Acts 14:3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
What more do we need?
Nothing else matters…
Nothing else can satisfy…
Nothing else is more rewarding!
One man filled with the Spirit is better than a hundred committees, which, ‘keep minutes but lose hours.’
This is why when the early apostles got ready to appoint leaders for the church they were specifically particular about the appointees being filled with the Spirit:
Acts 6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
When God so loved the world He did not form a committee, but sent His Son (John 3:16), and His Son sent the Holy Spirit (John 16:7).
Christ said that believers are the light of the world (Mat 5,14), but it needs the Holy Spirit to switch them on.
Matt 5:16
“Let your light so shine before men…”
It is impossible to shine bright in a dark world without the infusion of the Gospel and the infilling of the Spirit!
SHINE FOR JESUS…
