John 6:40 AMP For this is my father’s will and purpose, that everyone who sees the son, and believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on him shall have…..
The father has two desires and purposes for us his children; first is to see Jesus…to put our focus on him (Heb 12:2MSG). We are not to remove our focus from the person of Jesus. Peter tried it and he suffered for his inability to put his focus on Jesus by sinking. Secondly is to believe on him (Mk 9:23AMP)
But there are things that threatens what the Father desires for us. I call them the trinity of evil.
Mark.4.19 Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless. (AMP)
1. Distraction: distraction is one of the evil that challenges the life of the believer. The scripture calls it the “cares of this world”- the cares of this world is a programming of worry. See a man or a woman that is always worrying, the challenge of his or her life is how to make ends meet, but the book of Mt 6:34 says, “take no thought…….” Thoughts are traps for the believer’s distractions. Every thought is joined or in alignment with tomorrow and Jesus is specific about this.
We must note that tomorrow is a person. God does not live in time, he lives in eternity, but he created time for man and tomorrow for change. Any moment you worry about tomorrow, you take away the work of tomorrow. Don’t allow worry to distract you it’s one of the trinities of evil.
2. Abstraction: Mk 4:19- “deceitfulness of riches” one undertone of the desire to get rich is deception. 1Tim 6:10 Wealth is a blessing but it’s the love for the pursuit of money that leads men into evil. The tendency to pursue money by all means will end up taking things away from our life. People have lost family members because of pursuit for money. It will keep reducing until the individual becomes the next meal. The love of money will definitely turn our attention away from God and spiritual things and turn us to material things.
3. Attraction: “..the lusts of other things…” there are somethings that are not necessary for us to possess; but that another person has it, we also desire to have it. The constant pursuit of things that attracts does not end well. They are always disasters. Satisfaction is found only in Jesus.
The bible says these three things “trinity of evil” choke and frustrate Gods word to become unfruitful.
I found a scripture that has really helped shaped my mindset..it says, Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude.Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:6-7 TPT…It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. (MSB)
With Christ as our focus, we can look away from the distractions of the devil and keep believing in the one who holds tomorrow in his hands.
